Sample Itinerary of 4-day, 3-night Winter Vacation in Yellowstone:
Day 1: Your guide will meet you at the Bozeman International Airport. Bozeman Airport is the best option for visiting the Yellowstone area. Flights are available from major airports to BZN. From Bozeman, your guide will take you to your lodging in the north of Yellowstone. On the way to the park, go see downtown Bozeman, historic Livingston, MT, and the super scenic Paradise Valley of Montana.

The day's specifications will depend on your flight details and arrival times. We recommend arriving in the early afternoon to take advantage of daylight hours on our Yellowstone Winter Trips. You have the option of flying in the day before and overnighting in Bozeman.

Itinerary for Days 2 and 3 of Touring Yellowstone National Park
Wildlife Watching
Each day will start with an early pick-up from your lodging north of the park. Early starts are always preferred for wildlife activity and photo opportunities. Your days will be spent looking for the wildlife of Yellowstone. The tour will cover the areas between the north and northeast corners of Yellowstone, including the famous Lamar Valley. Lot's of stops are made along the way. The goal of the wildlife trip is to see the park’s wildlife with an emphasis on wolf watching. Winter is the best time to see wolves in the park. Bison, elk, pronghorn, and bighorn sheep are also commonly seen on the wildlife tour.

Snowshoeing
If you want to get out and stretch your legs, snowshoeing is also an option to break up the day. Snowshoeing in Yellowstone allows you to play in the powder and explore areas away from the vehicle. Snowshoeing is not always the best way to see wildlife in the park, but it does offer an active alternative. Snowshoes and poles are provided.


Yellowstone History and Geology
See the historic Fort Yellowstone in Mammoth Hot Springs. The tour can explore the park’s old military base and learn about Yellowstone’s rich history. After all, Yellowstone is the world’s first national park. Your winter Yellowstone tour will also cover Mammoth Hot Springs.
